Still Lifes

Still lifes are a foundational part of an artists practice. While they have a functional purpose, they also allow me to explore the beauty in everyday objects and what those objects say about the people who possess them or the context they are in. The items in someones shower or the objects they carry around in their purse create a type of portrait and I am given a scene to capture through painting.
